چکیده

In previous papers, a new technology that produces biopolymer composites by particle-bonding was introduced. During the manufacturing process, micrometer-scale raw material was coated with a corn (Zea mays L.) protein, zein, which was then processed to form a rigid material. The coating of rawmaterial particles with zein makes use of the unique property of this protein in aqueous ethanol solution. In this paper, it is shown that the behavior of a wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) protein, gliadin, is very similar to zein in aqueous ethanol. Size variation of aggregates in 45e65% aqueous ethanol was investigated with a turbidimeter in conjunction with Size Exclusion Chromatography. Confirming the resemblance of gliadin to zein in terms of aggregation behavior in aqueous alcohol, composites were fabricated by particle-bonding and their mechanical property was measured with a Universal Testing Machine. Test results showed that gliadin is a good substitute for zein in the production of composites. Published by Elsevier Ltd.

Comparison of Microleakage of Self-etch and Total-etch Bonding Agents in Primary Molar Class II Composite Restorations

Introduction: This study evaluated microleakage of flowable and conventional composite in primary molar class II restorations using self-etch and total-etch bonding agents. Methods: Class II standard cavities were prepared on proximal surface of 48 primary molars. These cavities were restored using GrandioFlow and Grandio composites and Futurabond DC and Solobo...

Computational evaluation of the homogeneity of composites processed by accumulative roll bonding (ARB)

A new computational method based on MATLAB was used to study the effect of different parameters on the homogeneity of composites produced by a severe plastic deformation technique known as accumulative roll bonding. For a higher number of passes, the degree of particle agglomeration and clustering decreased, and an appreciable homogeneity was obtained in both longitudinal and transverse directi...

بررسی خواص مکانیکی و ریز ساختاری اتصال نفوذی TLP نانوکامپوزیت Al2O3p/Alبا استفاده از لایه واسطه مس

Due to their superior properties such as high specific strength, high creep resistance and high strength at elevated temperatures, aluminum composites reinforced with alumina nano particles are widely used for advanced purposes such as aerospace and auto industries. Lack of an appropriate welding process limits their applications. Transient liquid phase (TLP) bonding is one of the state-of-the...

A Review of Silorane and Methacrylate Based Composites and Effective Factors on Microleakage of them

Introduction: An important disadvantage of current dental resin composites is their polymerization shrinkage and production of microleakage. This shrinkage can cause tooth sensitivity, marginal discoloration, and secondary caries. The objective of this study was to review the effective factors on microleakage of methacrylate and silorane composites and compare them with each other. This review...

Modeling and Optimization of Roll-bonding Parameters for Bond Strength of Ti/Cu/Ti Clad Composites by Artificial Neural Networks and Genetic Algorithm

This paper deals with modeling and optimization of the roll-bonding process of Ti/Cu/Ti composite for determination of the best roll-bonding parameters leading to the maximum Ti/Cu bond strength by combination of neural network and genetic algorithm. An artificial neural network (ANN) program has been proposed to determine the effect of practical parameters, i.e., rolling temperature, reduction...
